Is this a 'Fat Lava' vase, and does anyone know the maker? No mark as far as I can tell.

Indented sides. The overall shape is pretty symmetrical and even, so I'm doubting the vase itself is hand-made.

11" / 28 cm tall; found at a sale in Portland, Oregon

    Thanks!

lovely piece, and thumbs up for fat lava, not extremely so (compared to some), but does have that typical air bubble/hole effect

I definitely associate them with West German makers, but the ones I've seen are clearly marked as such.

    Nice piece Pottery:)
not all are marked on the base, some had labels that are long gone. I guess you could narrow down which companies used the off white clay and go from there?

Not sure if you saw this site:)

I'm warming to the opinion that it is indeed genuine Fat Lava-hate to gush over it, but it's really lovely Pot !

Never seen a German one so gaudy and you usually get at least a few numerals on the base. They are very organised!

Looks like Jaba the Hutt's bong.

Doesn't look like any German fat lava, I've seen, but it is fat lava. Italy is a possibility.

Picasso also did ceramics in Vallauris.

Thanks @kentworld. That one looks a little like it came from a barnacled shipwreck.

Wait--you think Picasso did mine?? Well I love hearing that!! ;)

Less than doubtful, but it may have been done in the same town. Then again, Google Lens hath spoken and if an AI says so it must be true. Right? :clown::clown::clown:
