This was in an antique mall in my town for over a year, an' maybe as much as a couple of years...30 or so years ago. I watched it regularly for all that time but wouldn't spring for the $75 price. Eventually, I offered $50 for it...an' was allowed to take her home with me! She has been a constant presence on one corner of my dresser ever since, an' my fondness has only grown over all these years. I do not pretend to understand her message...'tho I have spent a goodly number of hours in contemplation, seeking an enlightenment that still eludes.

She's about 11" tall, an' weighs over 12lbs; it is ~3 3/4" between her ear tips, an' her almond eyes are ~3/4" wide. She's highly polished everywhere save the base, which shows a crystalline structure...I don't know enough about stone to be sure, but Alabaster comes to mind. It has gray 'spots' in it that barely show.

The signature (pic 8) appears to be a backwards capital E, with the central stroke consisting of a left-pointing arrow that extends farther to the right beyond the vertical stroke.

I present her as much for your delight as for your comments an' suggestions about that what you see, an' feel...as well as about that signature. I'm without a clue how to go about finding the sculptor's name, an' trust strongly in your collective ability to assist me in this quest. Thanks for lookin'!

Perhaps she was born a bit early. As in, too soon.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I love the smoothness of her......she seems quite ethereal....at least to me!!
