I have this cute little (3 1/4" x 1 3/4" ) trinket box that I bought because of the intricate work of the filigree & what I thought might be a vellum bottom because it has a softer, fuzzy - ish feel compared to the sides which are smooth & hard - plastic?

I thought the top & corners filigree was wood, but researching showed many were made of bronze. This has a metal trim on the bottom edges & around the edge of the interior - the gold look where top's lock/latch goes into bottom looks like it could be bronze - or brass, but how do I know what carved/filigree parts are?
PS - notice in close up of the corner of the top, the center of a flower fell out - is that more likely from wood or bronze/metal?
Any way to tell it's age?
Any information on it would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely a print, but you can see "Luis" embellished her collar line with paint. She was a super popular image along with a few others. They were all prints that someone would embellish (beads, collars, lips, eyes) and then sign to make the buyer think they were totally painted.

Brass or maybe pot metal. Flocked plastic for the panels? The style of it, portrait, and that little handle date it to about 1930-50 imo. It's Hollywood Regency style. They sell pretty decently.

    Ditto.
A sweet jewellery box. Not filigree though, filigree is handmade from scratch using wires and granules.
The metal on your box is die-stamped openwork.
