Just bought a load of negatives covering 1938-60, including WWII images. But dreading the tedious digitisation of images to work out which ones are worth printing up. In the meantime I'm viewing them by eye above a home made light box and trying to make my brain work on interpreting the negative, not too successfully So trawling the net to see if there are any better ways of doing it I was amazed to read about FilmLab, which is an app for iOS (just released) & Android (soon) which allows your smartphone to photo negatives which are instantaneously converted to positive images. It looks amazing, I'm waiting for user reviews but will be looking to get the android app as soon as it is released! Might be worth checking out and no, I wasn't switched on enough to be part of the kickstart funding So is this going to replace scanners and image conversion software or is there a better way out there?
