It sounds like he had a long productive career as a ceramicist.

Found these earlier this week. The blue one is clear inside instead of the usual clear outside, stuff inside. It's signed, but bedarned if I can read it.

That orange spatter one is a relatively common Asian weight, a nice one though,

Polished base too, so it fooled me apparently. There was one with a cloudy base and a Murano sticker. Left it. It was sloppy.

There’s some very nice glass being made in China and Asia generally.

They've started figuring it out. I'd rather nice Asian than sloppy European. Nice US or UK would be tops of course. Real artisan stuff with a signature.

Missing crystal. Running. No key. From the first few years of Waltham production. Think there's any chance it's worth more than scrap?

They made lovely glass millennia ago, and there’s some super twenties weights. I think it’s more that there’s a realisation that better glass sells better. Some Murano made is rubbish, frankly and only sells on name.

The French made some beauties too, although they're less known here. It's one reason I keep hoping to find Clichy in the local thrifts for pennies on the dollar.

Might as well find out. Sell as one piece and start at scrap. See where it goes?

I’ve one clichy. Bought it at a car boot for three quid and it’s fabulous. A scramble on sodden snow, circa 1850.

I’ve also some thirties Chinese weights which are lovely.

Look at these boxes of fabric DS#2's girlfriend just picked up for her store:

This isn't my find, but I already offered to buy it from her. Or I have plenty of stuff she'd like for her store.
As some of you know, I am obsessed with vintage fabric, and am starting to collect it again.

Ooooh, I, too, am obsessed with vintage fabric, what a great find! I'm seeing lots of barkcloth, which always sells well.

These days if I can't cut it up and sew it, I don't have a use for it. Which doesn't always stop me.

Great score! I am not a watch guy but would think the problems are an easy fix. Here are some ebay sales of 18K Waltham watches to encourage you....

Some of this weekend's finds. Gold and silver jewelry. Pearls. Antique 14k ring. 18k bird sold with a 14k chain...for $5. The one nice quality long 14k chain has an enameled silver shell with a pearl on it. 14k white gold with a jade flower. Sold as costume. Real pearls. Larimar pendant sold by a friend; I'm going to put that on onyx beads and give it away.

The last shot was a whoopsie when I went to the pawn shop to turn the el-junk-o scrap gold from this weekend (and some loose beads) into folding green. What did I see in the pawn, but "costume" pieces in metal flowerpots for $10 each. Got three for $25. Ivory beads, pearls and semi-precious with 14k, and Majorca Pearl bracelet with .800 silver clasp. Costume, huh? Tomorrow's 05:30 wakeup call is officially off.:p Too many stairs with no handrail and all modern merch.
