Featured fine kutani cup & saucer

    Hi folks

    found this the other day in our village antiques shop. they had quite a few pieces of what looks to me quite fine kutani pieces. A stunning little vase with painted figures, but all had damage apart from this tea cup and saucer(£5)

    very fine tiny little mark on both pieces

    any helping with the age or mark would be a great help

    I love a nice piece of Kutani, it is always charming.:)

    Such a neat perspective on the sparrows or whatever bird they are. I love it! I’d put it more in the above average category than fine category but it’s great either way.

    Watano trading company. Your cup and saucer would date to the late Meiji 1868-1912.
    Most likely after the turn of the century. I agree with @J Dagger
    Not the finest, but very high quality.
