Floral still life painting-comments

What about the skill level of the artist? There’s a fairly large signature/name in the righthand corner and seemingly more writing on the left side (about 7cm up from the corner) Does this have elements of impressionism? I rather like
    it. Frame size is 28x40cm. Thanks for any replies

    The work of an amateur with some art training, I'd think. The colorway is certainly 1970s.

    Definitely 70s and agreed it looks like a lot of the hobby-type painting that was done then.

    It's weird how the composition's kinda leaning right. Balance is something that's harder to execute.

    Agree,I also noted that.. not sure if the artist was going for some different ‘perspective’ or just got it wrong. Personally the signatures is also what interested me,very large and bold for an amateur. Anyway it was really inexpensive and I still like it so it’s all good.

    Funny you should say that because I have a somewhat similar painting from my 1967 high school art class! I'd forgotten about it until my cousin passed away and discovered it among her things. I guess my mother gave it to her.
