Featured Folding wooden rule / measure

    I have many folding rules / measures but none like this.

    I was going to ask if anyone knew what it was because I didn't.

    However I've just discovered what it was for, so just for educational purposes, does anyone know what this was used for?

    The measurements go from 1 - 14 on each side of the hinge.

    Yes an early cobblers shoe measure, made by Ullathorne & Co.
    I realised the previous owners father was a Boot maker.

    When cleaning out a home or conducting a estate sale, sometimes you end up knowing more about the family history than the uninterested heirs.
