Found a Japanese Wood lacquer headrest Calligraphy help please

    I am trying to figure out how old this might be?
    It is 8" long x 5" x 4" The ends are made of wood and the center i am not sure but it is soft and squishes like a pillow, sort of. Really cool paintings on the ends with Calligraphy, Unfortunately I don't read Japanese.

    This is a Chinese lacquer bamboo and leather opium pillow?
