Found a ring metal detecting how old? It is really small

    Does a magnet stick ?
    Does not look gold as its corroded, could be any age.

    I mean, a lot of it is going to be with the information on where you found it

    For example, if you found it in the US, it wouldn't be Roman for example

    The depth at which it was found is also relevant.

    I found it on my property in pa, depth maybe 5 inches down

    Soak it in white vinegar - rust should dissolve and you will see what you have underneath.
