Made of wood. The seat fabric is a vinyl. What decade was this chair made?

Nice, looks like oak with a dark walnut stain, I see some quarter sawn in spots, which is found more often in old pieces as it is more stable over time. Wait for the furniture pro's for a date.

Looks to be circa 1910. The pegged joints are a nice touch, putting it a notch above many other mass produced oak of the era.

The seat covering looks newer than the frame. Probably recovered at some point.

I would go with a teens-20s date. English?

Might well be one of ours. Anytime from early 20th to post WW2, though, they went on a LONG time. Not vinyl, it's that other early synthetic I've forgotten the name of. If it was recovered, it was done a long time ago.

Thought of you this morning, @Any Jewelry . Ninety year old plus paratroopers at Arnhem being delightfully fussed over by the (far younger) local people. They don't forget, bless 'em.

They certainly don't, and people of all generations are almost as festive as just after the liberation. It is taught in schools, and children are given projects, and love to listen to the wartime generation. Some schoolchildren adopt war graves, and put flowers on them etc.
They meant so much and shall never be forgotten.

THAT was an absolutely brutal bit of hubris by the usually cautious Monty, memorialized in the film "A Bridge Too Far", overdone probably as hollywood often does but, many great actors, Connery, Cain, Hopkins, Olivier, Hackman, etc.
