Any information who might have made this?

    Welcome!

Do you have a photo of the base and some indication of size? Is this a signature or just texture?

Hi, it doesn't appear to be a signature of any type. The piece is 12cm at the highest point and the base is 11cm across. There is nothing on the base.

    These look really familiar.
    Nursery rhyme?
    Certainly look German in origin.

That's interesting. I just read what a spill vase is and all I can say is that the age seems to work. This belonged to the grandmother of a woman who is now in her 80's.

Could the shoes be Dutch? The clothing looks kinda rural.

I would not want to meet the woman who chose a representation of 2 distressed children to decorate her house. Jack & Jill took a spill...

Ha ha. I thought that this would look like The old woman that lived in a shoe and her husband at the end of the day when the children were put to bed. Then I thought, I don't think I have ever seen a man in any of the nursery rhymes for the old woman that lived in a shoe.

She already had so many children she didn't know what to do. Why in the world would she want a man around too?

Yesterday heard the woman astronaut who recently came back after a record setting stay in the space station say that not only did her fellow male astronauts asked her where things were, her husband back on earth did too.

IMHO, women are simply better at organization, multi-tasking, and logical thinking... and many men are more than willing to take advantage of that.

Although I like the rhyming for Jack and Jill, I'm thinking Hansel and Gretel.

I call it seeing America unintentionally. In your case, it would be the UK.
