Featured Found This Cabinet In The Dumpster. Can You Tell Me About It?

Good afternoon!

I found this cabinet in the dumpster the other day and I can’t find any information about it after hours of searching. It unlocks with a skeleton key which was in it. Can anyone tell me if it’s age and value?

A perfect example of how far down the value of brown furniture has gone. Value is not great, but someone will want to buy it if you are looking to sell. I'm not above dumpster diving myself when I see something good. Someone may have laid it in carefully, hoping that someone would rescue it before being crushed. If they had chucked it in the glass would likely have broken.

This looks to be 20th century made, Louis XV-style glass front cabinet. Probably made in the US (assuming that is where you found it), but to be certain of the age and where it was made you'll need better pictures.

 

I’ll post better pictures when I’m back home. Yes It was found in the US. I’m a General Manager for an indoor storage facility and people throw things away like this all of the time. What do you think the metal all over it is?

It is lovely. It reminds me some of the jewelry caskets I have seen that have that wonderful ornate work.
