Could you please take a close up of the stiches on the flower in the vase. This will help me help you to determine if this is an Antique Chinese silk embroidery or a later, but valuable reproduction.

I don't think this is an antique Chinese silk embroidery. The ribbon along the edge is of the same embroidery as the main subject. The ribbons were first applied because the silk embroidery was cut from clothing of the wealthy and Imperial classes' clothing. They needed a ribbon to hold the frayed edges. The edge of this piece is embroidered to appear to be a ribbon.

It looks Chinese, bats, butterflies, treasure vase, Chinese peaches, but I have no idea of the age.
As Kiko said, no rank badge.

I don't think this piece has the forbidden stitch. That's why I asked him for a close up. Here is a modest piece from my collection. Notice in the close up where the stiches are rounded. His looks flat. I could be wrong. I have to look at anything I see with a magnifying glass to be sure.

Thank you all for all the info! This is more of a close up and the 2 of the animals I could find with in. (There is a second bird)

Thanks for the better photos. @kyratango is right this is the forbidden stitch. The forbidden stitch is certainly an indicator of an older piece. Such intricate hand work was practiced from the 1400 to the late 1900s. Another thing going for your piece is that it cut off at the top.
This may be due to part being folded over to fit the frame or a piece partially cut from the original because of a seam.
I don’t suggest you remove it from the frame to check because many of these older pieces were exposed to the sun and the colors faded. The underlying silk could fray with handling. That would destroy the value of the piece.
I am still disturbed about the embroidered ribbon, the high profile of the embroidery and the simplicity of the design. That being said a lot of work was done for the nobility and is not as fine as the work you see for the emperor.
    It’s probably an antique.
