    Hi everyone,

My grandmother has asked me to post this question, as she found something under the stairs that she can't remember how it even got there.

I did some research on the Internet it does seem like it is a French ham holder whether it is antique or not is something I am asking you all here today.

There are no markings and it is quite a heavy piece of equipment. My grandmother has had it well over 50 years.

If you could look at the pictures I have attached and let me know your comments that would be great.

    Mike

No idea but French or not...
    I wouldn't eat 100 year old ham. ;)

MMS, I had never heard of such a thing (I guess the fact that my family didn't eat pork may have had some bearing...), but if you Google "ham holder" or "jamonero", you'll find that there are many contemporary versions.

    Hello Mike, welcome.
It looks like 60s style, so over 50 yrs is probably right.

I'd give it a wash and put it back into service. In America no one would know what it was, or pay for it either, so I wouldn't know much about values.

it is cool, I am going to ask my dad if he has ever seen one... he thrifts daily and some days comes home and says "I've never seen one of these before" I tell him dad you're 81 years old... in the grand scheme of things you are not old and I am certain there are millions of things you have never seen or even heard of.

I know right.... out of all the places in the world you would expect to find this it was under the stairs.. Is there such a thing as a specialist ham holder antique dealer?

Try kitchenalia dealers. If it gets used in the course of food preparation or eating, they sell it.
