I found 2 of these at my friend's thrift store today. When I showed him he said he must have missed them because he had someone coming to pay him $50 each for the ones he had.
I agreed to give him 1 back & he sold me the other for $40.
I've seen prints by Sem before, but never pencil signed & dated (1900!) And the title written in pencil.
Could the art be an original/pencil or pen drawn, or is it a reg. Print?
It has a sticker in the lower corner & a tag hanging from a string on the back that looks like this might have been in a auction?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I can't tell, but he no doubt made preliminary drawings.

This tells where the litho was published and gives a size of the print.

That's not to say yours is a print. I think that, even at that date, reproductions could be made with photolithography, especially of black and white drawings, but a photolithograph does require a subject image to photograph. A size comparison might be telling. Subtle tonal gradations were where that technique broke down. It looks to me (and I could be wrong) that he avoided such gradations there.

You need to show it to someone who could determine if it is by hand.

A couple close details might help someone else in expressing an opinion.

It's certainly possible the litho appeared in more than one publication, but the question remains as to the originality of yours, which I do not know.
