Can anyone tell me more about my little French gilt brass champlevé enamel compact?
@kyratango and others, do you have any idea of the age?
It is about the size of an average ladies' pocket watch, and looks like it should be on a chatelaine or watch chain, rather than a regular necklace.

I found a related one on WorthPoint, can anyone see what the asking price is?

They first call it vintage, and then antique. I would guess it is vintage, but how vintage?
Mine still has a perfectly working hinge, but doesn't have the powder puff.

    Thank you for looking.:)

    Charming! So small:woot:
Too small for powder, and I guess it would spread all over... Rather rouge for the cheeks:shame:;)
My guess is somewhere around 1920, before the Art Deco fashion:)

Thank you kyra.:kiss::kiss: It is a real cutie.
That is what I thought, and rouge cream rather than powdered? Maybe the powder puff with the other one is a later addition. Cute though.
Thank you, that sounds plausible. The design on the lid is 19th century in style, but the compact itself is later than 19th.

    Thanks scouts.
I paid slightly more than that, but based the price I was willing to pay on French champlevé pendants in the same style, which are often three-four times the amount I paid. Since I will wear it as a pendant, I am happy with the price.
Gorgeous enamels on the site you posted, thank you.:)
