This is a super faience 25cm diameter plate by Pourquier Beau c1875-1903.

Does anybody recognise the story depicted ?

Maybe it depicts a warning of some of the creeps you might encounter at a Bacchanalia. :troll:

Thanks Roaring20s. That example sold for a lot of money!

I'm not sure there's a narrative that goes with this, but the images all suggest lust & debauchery. Figure at the back, under the tree looks like Silenos/Silenus, a regular of the Dionysian revel rout. Guy on the left looks like an escapee from the commedia dell'arte. It's all ringing some distant bell, but can't place it at the moment. Hieronymus Bosch? Maybe there are 6 more plates with other deadly sins.

Roaring20s comment led me to discover that Quimper potteries produced Legendes wares which copied ideas of Moustiers designs from the late 18th century. I’ve not found another example of my plate exactly but others on similar lines can be found online. They are rare.

The fellow on the left on your plate looks a great deal like Punch from Punch and Judy fame. Definitely some sort of bacchanalia.

That's it. Couldn't quite place him. The flying insects intrigue me. Don't know how they fit the theme.
