French Metal Statue on Wood Base

    I just purchased this metal statue on a wood base it 23.5 in by 10 in approximately. It is a young man carrying water (no buckets) riding on a fish. It has a small metal label on the base that say Porteur d'eau...which I believe means water carrier. On the bottom of the base written is "Neptune God of the Sea." There is more written under that but I cannot really read it...perhaps Felh or n?? And 94 or I may be completely wrong.

    I would appreciate any information you may be able to provide. Thanks!

    There must have been buckets, originally.

    Definitely not Neptune/Poseidon, but the way he is dressed & the dolphin beneath his feet make him more of an allegorical figure of Water, rather than the depiction of an actual human.

    Until I scrolled down enough to see the pic, I was expecting something more like this (although I suspect seller's description is wrong & this was meant to be something more like the Genius of Fire):
