Got this framed paper with hand drawn designs, dated Nov 25, 1935. " I dedicate this book to the - Amalgamated Froth-Blowers Union of America". I can find information about groups named Froth Blowers from across the pond, but nothing about it in America. The name Stanley Braid doesn't seem to turn up anything book related either.
I came up with this on a Stanley Braid, but no idea if it could be him: https://www.officialusa.com/names/Stanley-Braid/ Wondering if it's something he made in 'jest'?? Also love the little 'badge' at the bottom!!
Probably this person: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/162310338/stanley-r.-braid . Born in England. Guess his book was never widely published.
UPDATE: I just found him in the 1920 census with his parents. The age in the census is consistent with the birth year in Find A Grave. I had misread the document (need bifocals!) and thought the date on it was 1925. It was actually 1935, so never mind! I didn't find anybody else of that name in the U.S. Census for 1920 or 1930.
Don't think there was a book, per se. He wasn't an educated man. (Working as a time keeper in an alkali plant in 1930.) Would have done some commercial studies, in either high school or night school, though what with the typing, lettering and drafting he's using. Interesting topical mention of Italy and Ethiopia. The invasion was in October of that year. Debora
