I'd say it's a nice enough vase, but it's not Galle. A better look at the siggy would help, but I doubt to your benefit. Probably Romanian or Chinese and near new.

I had looked at that site but.....the shape looks ok to me. No?

The shape seems off, but Galle produced lots of different ones.

A Romanian knockoff would likely have "Tip" written after the Galle signature, meaning "Galle Type."

There are a couple of important features at the top and bottom of the vase. Is the top of the vase cut off flat, or are the edges rounded? Also, what does the pontil look like? Smooth or rough?

your photo is at an odd angle and a bit blurry for making out any detail. That site also offers 'free' appraisals...

Although I could not find a comparable design, I thought that the shape matched up as well. We just left for California but I will follow up with photos upon our return.

I cannot take additional photos until we return from our trip but here is a closer view of the signature from the original auction.

I hope you don't mind, I took the auction photo and played with it to try and bring up the signature. It's not great, but it may help until you can take more photos :)

P.S. I'd still go for the top rim and the pontil as excellent indicators of authenticity.

I see lots of this in the thrift store. Usually the gold MADE IN CHINA sticker is still on it. I would say most of it is similar quality to the originals. The thrift store stuff passes for original when someone removes the sticker and brings it to a local auction house.

Hadn't replied since I thought this settled in the first response. This is clearly a reproduction.
