    Hi all,
I bought this watch the other day and paid more than I wanted to at USD $40.00
I have to still take it to my jeweler to take the back off and get to all the information and possibly repair it as it isn't working. So, it was kind of an impulse buy and I would like your thoughts and input.

Money at a jeweler's is wasted
It will not add any value to the watch
The back does not appear to open
Looks like a swing out from the front

Can't give an opinion on the watch until we see the inside. Terry is correct, spending $$ at a jewelry store is a waste. unless they don't charge to just open it.

Based on wear to crown it appears to be gold filled. Could be wrong but looks that way to me. Should be easy to find comps on eBay.

Well, I didn't spend any money getting it open. My friend who has a pawn shop with watch and Jewelry repair and I figured it out after a few minutes. The front and back screw off Lol. The watch was made by The Dueber watch company After they purchased the company and moved to Ohio.
The serial #736761 Dates the watch to 1890, or just prior because 740000 started 1890
The case was made by Keystone and is as you said 10K gold filled.

Did your friend suggest why it's not working?

No, they only do battery replacement and stuff on newer watches. He couldn't tell me.

Looks like a screw might be the cause, one of the screws that keeps the movement in the case is missing, it might have fallen into the movement, it often happens.
