    Hello!

This was a recent acquisition of mine. The back is marked F214, but that is it. I wasn't able to find a pattern name for this, so I was wondering if anyone here would be able to identify this.

    Any help is appreciated!:)

Anddddd the closest piece I was able to this is the following. No pattern name in this listing, and the dish has a slightly different layout, but all elements of my pattern are also present on this one. So in case this helps, I'll leave this link here:

F214 is the pattern. They were rarely named.

Me either. It's hand-painted, or so it looks from here, but the colors are only kinda-sorta right. The design isn't right at all. Beyond that I'll leave it to the experts.

Shuman's book Gaudy Dutch & Welsh Collector's Encyclopedia has a Gaudy Welsh pattern #214 (not F214) that they call Cherry Tree. No photo but the description sounds nothing like yours. "Four blue scallops are at the base and the trunk of the tree grows from there. The branches and fruit radiate around the edge."

I'm not seeing Gaudy Welsh in the pattern, either... and from what I understand, true GW does NOT have gold luster or gold/silver gilding.
But it's a nice plate and hopefully someone here can help with further ID. :)

Should have said, I agree it’s not Gaudy Welsh. Sort of Imari.

Thank you all! This is all very fastinating. Perhaps including Gaudy Welsh in my searches was actually to my detriment.

Yes, this is hand painted. And for those who the Worthpoint images weren't working for, here is the picture from that link:

(I guess they misidentified that as Gaudy Welsh too though.)

    They did, that’s Imari style.
