Hello again, potty friends. I picked this up yesterday for a pittance. It is clearly marked GDA France which I understand is Limoges. I can't find any marks to tell me if the overlay is sterling or something else. I would also like to know approximately when this was made. The style is quite art deco I think. A few bits of the silver are missing, how much will that affect saleability and price? I've found a couple pots like this but no sets so I'm lost for value. As always, I appreciate all your input. 20250419_090119.jpg 20250419_090153.jpg 20250419_090234.jpg 20250419_090510.jpg 20250419_090517.jpg 20250419_090529.jpg 20250419_090449.jpg

    Thanks, everyone!

GDA is the mark of Gerard, Dufraisseix, and Abbot. That particular mark was used from circa 1900-1941. My suspicion is that GDA produced the china itself but that the decoration was done by an outside firm.

Yes, the silver overlay (I dunno if sterling or not, but usually is I think) is likely done by another company. Sometimes it is marked on the bottom but not always. I think that your set is early 20th c and not deco. Shape is a bit more art nouveau. Get a jewelery/sunshine cloth and shine up that silver! It'll be a wow!

I've seen this type of silver decoration before and it's quite stunning. The examples I've seen have all been German companies.

    Your set is just gorgeous.

Couldn’t be any prettier. Also couldn’t be any more useless in 2025. Sure is pretty though!

Who’s to say you couldn’t serve coffee or tea out of it though.

From the scratches in the saucer wells, it looks like it has been used before!
