Came out of a delinquent storage facility...too bad the termites started to sample some areas. 20181203_212315.jpg
    Top portion with mirror.
I'll get a better look at it in the day time to see if its worth saving.

A public service announcement to anyone that puts wood furniture into storage....DONT butt the piece up against a wall, that allows termites in storage places easy access.

Are you asking about the lock mechanism itself, or the opening in the wood to accommodate it?

Just out of curiosity, if this is a general question, what would be an example of a specific question?

Really hard to tell what we are looking at. Key hole was probably created by hand with power tools.

I was asking about the keyhole made in the wood...looks handmade to me.
I got a better look at the piece today in the daytime and unfortunately termites trashed the top, one side corner on the right front and 2 legs are severely damaged by termites.
I did get to look over the drawers and was surprised that they are not dovetailed but attached with some type of nail.
Hard to say the piece is not worth repairing as I see it.

Thanks all, I have a question on another piece But didn't get a good enough picture so that one will have to wait for another day.
