Georg Heufel Dresden Dessert plates with a couple questions

Hi all. I picked these 6' plates from my favorite thrift. I think the mark dates them from 1891 to 1901?.
What is the gold flower on the bottom, and what is it covering up?

The maker of the plate itself. The blue triangle is the decorator's company mark.

Probably not.

 

The gold is covering the Rosenthal Iris mark, used circa 1891-1906. Iris was the shape.

 

I think the gold flower is there to embellish .... your birthday congratz!

That mark helps clinch the dating of these plates.

"OK, that gold flower thing is covering the original maker's mark. There would be a mark there for whomever made the blank plate, but the artist covered it up. This was pretty common. Often the artist's name would be inscribed in the gold."
