Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Hi Steve. Before going further, could you do two things? Go back in to your post to EDIT and click on the very TOP image that says "post every image FULL SIZE" please....members on phones have a hard time seeing these. Also could you post two SHARP, CLEAR whole images of each picture preferably in good natural light....no flash to reflect off picture.....can't be more than 1 MB each. Thanks.....others will be along to help more specifically with your question.....It does look like there is texture to what you have posted.....I'm just not positive what that means!!!

From what I can see they look like original watercolours. Have you got a magnifying glass you can use to check for dots? If there are dots it will be a print. Check for pencil marks under the watercolour too. People will need to see the backs too and full size as Aquitaine said.

If you look back at other posts from newer members there are instructions from others. Think one way is to email the picture to yourself at a smaller size. I’ll see what I can find. Ah, see Aquitaine has found the info.

Hi again! Usually, at the bottom of your original post, it says "Edit" in small blue print.....click that to go in......if 6 or 8 hours have gone by, you may not be able to....you may have already read this below, and others may chime in with more help. You can always add the 2 full images to a new post as well.....

If you still have trouble....Keep asking....we'll get you there!!!!!!!! Once you've done it a few times, it's easy-peasy.....first few can be difficult!!

BTW......seeing NO DOTS is a GOOD THING!!!!!!

I always err on the side of caution when it comes to original art, especially with an artist who's as well know as this one.

It looks like gouache. Could be transparent watercolor with gouache as well.

I see his sigs as G. Wright with a quick search. Have you found any with Geo. ?

i think hand coloured prints IMO, the painted colours have lasted better than the black print ink which has faded, probably lithos (which dont have dots)

you can also see where the painted areas dont quite fill right

I saw some hand painted lithography pieces in my research earlier, Chesaroo. No close ups to see any detail, however. The photos in this listing aren't of a high enough resolution to see detail, either...plus, we have some blurry shots.

If the white border in the photo of the sig is NOT a mat, for sure they'd be lithos. You're not going to get that clean of an edge on original piece unless they had Frog tape back in the late 1800s/early 1900s!

Yeah I'm pretty sure mate, just by the way the colours look

They probably even hand coloured the Sig !!

Hand coloured is still better than a print Steve !
