a couple of cool 10p buys from this morning

i thought the spoon (5 3/4")was silver immediately, from the colour that was free from tarnish

cleaned it and saw that there were a few hallmarks inside concave part, two have gone completely.

never seen a georgian spoon before, but thats what i thought as soon as i saw it (i think i might have been here before :))

cant find any info on the lettering tried PDR, PDP, RDR

ive worked out the other thing is a glass cutter, with a tiny rough diamond embedded,

    anythoughts or info appreciated

And later than Georgian. The assay mark looks like the Minerva head, the mark in the lozenge is a maker's mark.

The Minerva head was introduced in 1838, and is still used.

You're welcome, Charlie! For future reference, any time you see little punches in the bowl of a spoon or on the tines of a fork, you've got something from France. The diamond shape for the maker's mark is for solid, square or rectangle is for silver plate.

My Jag was deeply keyed when it belonged to the original owner. He got so upset that he put it up for sale and I bought it with the keying. Terrible thing to do to a car.

When I lived in Paris all my little BASIC cars were keyed! (And not due to wrong parking...)
That's why I sweared to myself the first I see doing that will pay for others, HA!
