I am not sure if this was made by them to hold a wood carved figurine or if they made these also. All I can find is the figurines.
This little box is 5 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" tall. Also not sure of it's age, maybe Mid century? Ill keep looking at it and scratching my head till I find out.

According to the internet, that's a souvenir shop in Oberhammergau. Kuno Bierling Wood Carving at Dorfstrasse 45. A Google Image search will bring up other examples of their work. Yours might be a modern version of a Bride's Box.

Yes, a Bride's Box or Spanschachtel. Here's one in the same shape.

I’ve been to that shop! The town is where the Passion Play is held every 10 years.
