Any idea of the approximate date of this bracelet please?. Feels quite nice quality and presumably valued by the owner as its got the name S.Vallely inscribed on the panels.
    Thanks for any help :)

Likely to be 1960s-ish or a tad later.

Thankyou Debora. What makes you think that date? (Just so I don’t annoy everyone by asking the same questions on future threads!)

Between 1949 to 1990 as there are no East German DDR locations on there.

From the style and the fact that mass tourism began in the 1960s. But, actually, I'm going to revise my opinion to the 1970s or a tad later. If it were 1960s, it would be closer to this in design.

That’s a smart way to narrow it down. Thankyou x

I’ve found hundreds of examples like that online but none like this yet. I’ll keep looking as I doubt it’s a one off!

That's an odd collection of cities. You might want to research if they have anything in common. US military bases, for instance.

before 1946. Westfalen as a province of the Free State of Prussia was united with parts of the Prussian Rhine Province to Nordrhein-Westfalen by the British; at the same time the definite end of Prussia was finally realized.
ask once around - nobody knowns that Prussia survived the Third Reich by one year.:woot:

Sorry, I don't follow your logic. This is the current coat of arms of Westphalia (Westfalen) per Wikipedia.org.

What Fid means is that it has been Nordrhein-Westfalen since 1946. Before 1946 it was Westfalen, not joined with the northern part of the Rhine region.

A quick Google gave me a working knowledge of German train timetables :hilarious:
Edit- joking apart, it did occur to me it could be someone from a military background as it's patriotic and the engraving is very formal.

Could very well have been a PX item.

I think it's older than makes sense for a foreign (foreign to Germany) military base item, but I have been unsuccessful in finding anything to prove that. :p

I also think it is older. The style is more Art Deco-ish, and then there is Fid's valid point about Westfalen/Westphalia.

Our equivalent is the NAAFI, but they didn't sell stuff like this. I'm with AJ. Although the plaques are Western, the feel of it and the naming is pre WW2.

If there is a German-cities-panel-link-souvenir-bracelet like this one to be found online, it is not on an English language site.

Unless @i need help proves me wrong. :jawdrop::hilarious:
