Probably is, but are there reprints from the original negs?

    Great pic though!

The picture looks in pretty good condition for being 100 years old. Could be reprint but it’s on glossy photo paper not offset print. If from neg, I’d expect a stamp or so on the back but the photo is laid over paperboard.
Btw, anything about the girl’s clothes revealing the time period?

The signature and mat wouldn't be original; maybe added by the framer? ...girl's clothing looks right for the era to me.

Could be by the framer. But without provenance, stamp or other info or another known example, go prove it’s by the same William Bell.

The scene strikes me as staged romanticism, and may not be very old at all.

Agree. Old tyme-y. Not old time. (She isn't wearing period clothing.)

It looks Edwardian to me, possibly staged, but a lot of photographs were - no doubt it is by a Wm Bell other than the famed or contemporary photographers named above.
Speaking of staged, this is an 8x10 of mine, 19th century and I believe Scottish.

Whatever the age, I think the photo is charming.

The bushes do look like Rhodies, Pat. And it appears to be the correct environment for them too.

Not that anyone asked but... I'm not a big of those staged old tyme-y photographs. They have no truth in them. Here's a more recent examples of same genre. (With apologies to the photographer.)
