Give Away Stamps Canada Millennium 1999 2000 Tin Box Gift Set

Offered to actively participating , well-known members. We’ll see what the situation is Sunday evening. Free really cheap poorly packed shipping.

Every time I saw one of these at a thrift, I bought it. So I have a few. It’s a millennium gift set produced by the Canadian Post Office.

(A) The cardboard wrap on this is also the entry form to a long gone photo contest. There is a celebratory postcard that was issued with it. Bit of damage to the wrap.




(B) This is still in it’s original shrink wrap and never opened. No photo contest entry form here, but apparently you still get the postcard.


(C) Whatever original wrapping is gone. No postcard.


The contents of the tins are all complete.

I have 1 of (A), 2 of (B), and 2 of (C) to give away.

The tin box (I’d guess aluminum if you want to be technical) measures about 5 3/8” (13.5cm) square and about 1/2” (1.1cm) thick.

Each box contains a keepsake folder, an offset litho stamp, a holographic stamp, and (my personal favorite) an old-timey steel engraved stamp. There is also a plated steel (I presume) medallion produced by the Royal Canadian mint.

The stamp sheets are 4 1/4” (10.8cm) square.

The medallion is 15/16” (2.4cm) across (the same size as a quarter).













The medallion I photographed shows wear. I don’t know how that happened. So far as I know it’s never previously been out of the box. It’s not obvious wear. I don’t know what that says about the medallions in the other boxes

 

If my dad was still around I'd be after it, but it's not my thing particularly.
