All these for 130 pounds. Never see a pocket watch holder casket like this one! The brooch is made in 1836 and in perfect condition. The chain is probably silver? Unsure about it but beautiful anyway 1.jpg

I’ve had the best hangovers in Glasga’. Much of my dna originated there.

Lots of great Tartan Noir books set in Glasgow too. Denise Mina and Malcolm Mackay just to name a couple authors.

The pin looks like really old mourning jewelry. Glasgow came up trumps again! Is the watch holder crystal or rock crystal?

Yes the pin is inscripted 1836. And the watch holder glass/crystal I assume?Since other examples are all glass and it should be much more pricy if it's rock crystal

Rock crystal is clear quartz, less likely to break but also far harder to make in the first place. Jacks the price up if used.

Absolutely. Other shops are good too, and lots of good pubs, stylish tearooms (Willow Tearooms in Glasgow, Clarinda's in Edinburgh) and restaurants.
And good museums and galleries of course.
Although I usually stayed in beautiful Edinburgh (relatives), I love Glasgow, Perth and the smaller towns as well. And Glasgow is known for having the friendliest city population in the UK.:)
