These were in a junk jar I bought a few months ago. They're strung together with fishing wire - I don't know if they are actual "wedding cake" beads - but they kind of look like it :) If anyone wants them - I'll send them your way. If more than one person wants them - I'll draw a name on Friday evening.

I'm in! Those are begging for a restring! They may even be custard glass in addition to the surface decoration.

WOOT! I haven't looked at the giveaways for a few days. Address sent. I'm guessing they were originally a necklace and earring set, but the string and wires both gave up the ghost.

Project #1 - took some of the lampwork beads and hand knotted them onto rattail cording. I think they're probably Japanese.

Very nice @evelyb30!...but how do you differentiate between Italian and Japanese? My inexperienced self would have probably assumed Italian.

These still have their clay cores; no self-respecting Italian bead maker would leave it in. The little roses on the sides of these are more pink dots than roses, i.e. the detail isn't there. The Venetian ones tend to be pretty elaborate and these just aren't. The white beads they were strung with I'll have to get a better look at. There's something different about them; the necklace looked like someone put two different pieces together.

Thanks for this input! I have a handful of black based 'wedding cake' beads on a broken frankensteined necklace. I think I will deconstruct it and post the possibly salvageable parts in the Jewelry forum for evaluation. Thanks!

Good idea. You never know. I found a sterling and enamel Norwegian pendant on a kid's junk bead craft project once. It was in a rummage sale, so I didn't feel the slightest bit guilty for tearing that thing apart. The parts were worth more than the whole.
