This was at the thrift, it reminded me of an Italian glass piece I once owned.

Seems to be hand done by the circles on the base, the green and red section is applied, inside the bowl it is not smooth, but has a ridge created for each of the colored sections. Any idea of maker, age, or origin? Thanks!

(Also, sorry first 3 photos were before I cleaned it.)

I never seem to know much about this type of newer glass. I really like this piece so maybe a few observations. It is really nice how the stripes are embedded into the glass rather than applied on top. And it seems that some effort was made to conceal the ends of each stripe. The top is very nicely finished. So it might be Murano but that's not what jumped into my head when I first opened this thread. I thought "newer glass made for some type of Christmas arrangement". Too nice for a florist vase. So maybe giftware?? Sorry that's all I have.

If you intend to sell it, I would go with that Christmas angle. Maybe even hold it until the season.

Thanks, Ola. :) Definitely should hold for Christmas, a good thought.

The colored sections were applied in some fashion, they do not come through to the inside -the clear glass bowl has ridges where these fit in, so the colored stripes sort of sit on the outside. My neighbor does scientific glass blowing and happened to be here yesterday, he mentioned the bowl/vase was hand blown. It is kind of an odd piece.

Another question, would I call this a "vase" or a "bowl"?

I think it is a rose bowl, which is a kind of vase. I can see it with white roses in a tight bunch with pieces of holly and piney stuff around the edges (no baby's breath). It should all stay low so as not to overwhelm the rose bowl / vase.

Kind of like this (stolen from the web):
