Glass Shear Mark?

    Hi All,
    Is this mark on the bottom of the bowl considered a shear mark? Or maybe another term? Same mark just two different views:)
    any information appreciated

    A shear mark would be on the last part of the gather that left the the gathering rod. therefore not on the outside of the part, but on the inside. Shear mark, a chilled part of the gather would be on the inside of the bottom of a pressed piece. The mark in your piece could have been from a bubble that burst or from a bit of "dirt" that later fell out. Its not a flaw.

    Known here as a glass pop.

    A bit more: internal shear marks are caused by poor annealing. I've seen paperweights shatter, literally from it.
