    hi folks

2 more thrift pieces from tother day.

the glass(£4) i grabbed pretty quick without looking to closely as it looked interesting but think its actually flash glass now looking at the base, still has a nice look to it though, unsure of maker age etc

more of a bottle thinking about it

i rather like the pottery foo (£10) (antiques shop)nice mustard glaze, hoping it has a bit of age, late 19th / early 20th ? one of a pair ?

glass measures 7 inches, foo is about 4 by 4

    both undamaged

    any thoughts or info appreciated

I'll take 'em both for that kind of change-but yep, the bottles a knockout ! I'd venture to call the bottle color 'Puce', and amongst bottle collectors-
"Considered to be the holy grail, puce colored bottles are highly sought-after with only a handful of examples found. The majority of puce bottles were manufactured between 1840 and 1880. Most are pictorial flasks, inkwells, bitters, and medicine bottles."
PS-Judging exact color is in the eye of the beholder, but to my hazy eyes it's Puce. Others might call it pinkish or red, etc.

interesting, thanks mate. Not 100% sure if its a vase or a bottle, kinda looks like a bottle, but the wide flared Lip suggests vase i think.

be more interesting if it was a bottle though

Bottle Diggers & Collectors are rabid dedicated folk ! Is that a quite light polished or ground pontil on the bottle's base ?

I dont see wear in the neck to make me think bottle. Im also wondering if this might be Peking glass.

i'd say rough to light polished mate, might have started out as just a rough pontil though, i think its got age, as in antique
