Hi all. Im SO frustrated anymore with my search skills ! I cant seem to find anything EVER lately ! This vase is 4 1/2 by 4 1/2,and I just knew it was Dugan. If it is,darned if I can find a match .I love the little Green Man face on it. Any and all input is always appreciated.
I’m seeing similar rose bowls with the design called “Piasa Bird” https://www.google.com/search?q=Blu...bN0PEP0qCumAk&bih=445&biw=320&prmd=sinv&hl=en
It's so pretty. On your second photo of the bottom of the piece, the leg on the right looks like it has printing. Looks like MATING. (to me)
This seller identifies it as Sowerby of England. I thought maybe English because of the green man . Thank you all so very much for your help ! https://picclick.com/Sowerby-Of-England-Blue-Opalescent-Piasa-Bird-Footed-183378084894.html
The argument against attribution to Sowerby is the Piasa bird is a Native American legend. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piasa
Apparently theres differing opinions on who made it online. And of course what I thought was a Green Man is a bird ! Doh !
No worries, it HAPPENS to all collectors at some point, then you get a string of hits on the searches and all is well until a search drought rears it's ugly head again.
It does, but in person it seems to be a reflection of the bird leg from the other side. OR I just cant see it with a naked eye.
