Featured Glassies , painted or cased ?

    Hi all . Picked up this 3x3 bottle and I cant figure out if its painted or cased . I also cant decide if its a bottle or a vase ! The lip is so wide . Any input is always aprreciated .

    Very pretty, Johnny! But I've never seen "cased glass" where the "case layer" is multi-colored in a picture. Are you sure this isn't ceramic?

    No,pretty sure its glass . I just realized theres a peacock on it ! Thats why I bought it really,I wondered how it was made. That plus it was .50 !

    Snuff bottle, perfume bottle sans lid or top? Pretty.

    Seems to be. there are lines on the side. I imaged searched my head off and nothing remotely close.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    My guess was the same as Pearls!!! Looks like a cat or dog on the bottom!! Saw the Peacock in 'full bloom' instantly!!!! LOVELY!!!!! LOVE the color!!!!

    Its a blob of some sort. but its smooth over it .

    Looks like they rolled hot glass in a prepared glaze pattern and then blew it into a mold with the bottom of the mold already containing glaze for the base. Can't imagine it was anything but a perfume bottle.

    1 inch inside,1 1/2 on the outside. Thank you all so much for the input. Its an interesting little piece for sure.

    I think it is a perfume bottle without its stopper. I do think it may be fairly recent, but is still very cute.

    My suggestion would be to stick it in your pocket when you go out hunting & try stoppers you may find. :happy::happy:
