Good Morning! I purchased this ring at an estate sale and at first I thought it might be amber, but it glows a purple color when the light hits it a certain way and when it is facing straight it is all orange. It is also translucent. Can you also help me with the age if possible? Thank you all so much in advance for your help!

It is Dragon's Breath 'opal', which is glass. Nice ring.:)

The ring in this set has a similar 'stone':

The set isn't antique, btw, and neither is your ring. I would guess 1970s-80s or so, but glass is not my expertise. The costume joolies can help you date it more properly.

I just found one exactly like it on Etsy. they did say glass, but from the 1920S they had it listed. https://www.etsy.com/listing/156094...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

    Wonderful.
I wonder if it is. Let's wait for the others, I believe @Lucille.b knows a lot about Dragon's Breath glass.

JMHO, the Etsy seller is mistaken, I agree, mid 20th century :)

Question for my learning: I usually only see "STERLING" stamped out on early 20th pieces. 925 on later. I know that's not a rule but have y'all seen 70s etc. pieces stamped with the full word like that?

In the USA very few makers used 925 until the late 1990's.

Frosted dragons' breath glass for sure. It looks more 1970s or later than 1920s; the metalwork is all wrong for earlier.
