    Hello,
rooting around a junk shop in Ireland I got quite lucky today and purchased this seed for €10... know a little about them and I know they're quite valuable. Anyway it struck me that a consignment of boxes that came in might not be the usual rubbish u find in these places and there was a lot of old wood carvings and animals- bought this one below for a few quid... Is it old or is it an india type fake, its very heavy and very well carved I think it might be African blackwood and may be an old tourist souvenir type item??? Any info much appreciated

That rhino is really nice; that has some age on it, but don't ask me where it came from. I'd be back in that shop looking to see what else popped out of that box!

I'd think blackwood rhino, maybe South Africa or Zimbabwe, would be a good guess. Nice find.

That coco de mer for €10, wow!
The rhino and calf are beautifully made, they are African rhinos, so likely to be African made. The wood is beautiful too, a bit of oil would bring it out even more.

The Coco de Mer is an absolute steal, I've seen them at around £200 ish depending on size.

image.jpeg Cheers- theyre certainly unusual and get a reaction if u show someone; think the person in the shop just thought thats a pretty obscene looking thing- get rid!
Cleaned and oiled the Rhino- beautifully proportined thing that someone put alot of time into, shame they dont seen to attract much attention online these African type animal carvings.
