Greetings...

First off, would like to thank all the folks who sent me notice of this site, have lurked a bit and seems a nice place with many familiar 'faces' - and please accept my apologies for any lack of response, a now chronic lack of free time has unfortunately affected my manners.

My name is Cheryl, have been a collector of all sorts of stuff, all my life - the folks had an 'Antiques & Used Furniture' store in the '70s, so spent many evenings and weekends at auctions, house sales, etc. Was a retail manager for many years, also worked for a couple of local antique dealers, and then spent several years as a bartender, but continued picking for a few dealer friends as well as selling in a mall, have been earning my primary income from antiques, collectibles, and general junk for about fifteen years now.

My 88 year old Mom lives a couple of miles down the road, and I spend good bit of time with her, also share my life with Bridget, a wacky Wheaten Terrier mix, and two male cats, an older white & orange named Spot, and the younger Siamese-mix, Talisman - not really sure if they're driving me crazy or keeping me sane, but I do love the brats. I'm generally a pretty easy-going kind of girl, but have found that my tolerance for bull**** is now considerably lower than in my youth...

Some may know me from the eBay Antiques Board, where I'd been a contributor for many years (note past tense), as well as on a couple of silver-related discussion forums. Silver is my primary interest, especially mid 19th to mid 20th century American, souvenir spoons, and Scandinavian, but I have a bit of experience in a pretty wide variety of other areas, and am a compulsive researcher, with a fairly decent library of references on a number of subjects. Always enjoy seeing interesting items and learning new stuff - when time allows, enjoy helping others, and will also sometimes post citable/verifiable information in hopes of somehow helping stem the escalation of misinformation online.
