Hi, Got this vase from local auctions a few months ago

it is hand painted and relatively light, 15cm tall, 6.5cm Diameter

The greyness and opaqueness is making me think it is pottery and not porcelain

Unsure of Age, im guessing that it is Chinese

anyone have any ideas about its age or origin?

    Thank you

Welcome, @RG2000! The concern is that type of deep, overall crazing is often found on new Asian imports. How did the auction house describe the piece?

    Yes it is Japanese.
I seriously doubt Meiji. It is in the Satsuma style, and because there is no mark it would only be an attribution.

The box was just described as pottery and glass, The auction house sells most goods in groups or boxes, i believe most of the stuff comes from the estates of deceased people, this was the box that i got it from

Satsuma crackle glaze is intentional, and is not meant to diseave and doesn't determine age of the piece. It's just the way they were made.

Some Kind of Japanese Bulb Vases, seems to be twentieth century export ware because they are marked "JAPAN", looks like its a particular style but don't know the name of it IMG_20251228_165415609_HDR.jpg IMG_20251228_165419145_HDR.jpg IMG_20251228_165422013_HDR.jpg IMG_20251228_165424614_HDR.jpg IMG_20251228_165430186_HDR.jpg IMG_20251228_165437229_MFNR.jpg IMG_20251228_165441354_MFNR.jpg

    Absolutely. Nothing wrong with that.

I found a similar one on ebay:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/326579201016

Ebay links don't work well, but if you click on one and delete the first half until you get to the second https:// etc, it should work.

    It says:
Vintage INTERPUR Japan Porcelain 7.5” Bud Vase- Crazed Glaze Floral Design

    US $12.99 or Best Offer
    Condition: Used

I assumed OP's was Satsuma-like porcelain, based on the thinness of the wall. Of course I could be wrong.
