    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Here are four views of my little gun. It's only tangentially "military" but I'm hoping this is the right place to post this anyway. It was given to my Grandmother by my Grandfather (both now passed away), after he returned from World War II. It was passed down to me; I sometimes carry it for personal protection.

I would love to know more about it.

In the photographs, you can see...

    Thank you for looking!

I guess lots of companies copied Deringer (adding an extra R in there) and made their own version. I know if we could easily own hand guns in Canada, I'd want one LOL

I just found out it is actually made by "Rohm" and is a model 15 (Googling that should get you more info)

Maybe u don't need this advice but if u r going to depend on it, take it somewhere where you can shoot a few dozen rounds to check that it operates correctly and that u can hit something with it. With a .22 you have to hit a vital area for it to be effective at all. I tell everyone to test fire their guns after carrying a .380 semi-auto pistol for a while before firing it. I had 90 grain bullets loaded. When I test-fired it, the cartridges with the 90 grain bullets would not operate the gun so it would only fire one shot and you had to rack the slide to reload. 115 grain bullets fixed that issue.

A .32 automatic is what I'd consider about the minimum for personal defense, and a .380 is better. I don't like the large calibers because the recoil takes them off the target temporarily unless you practice a lot, and that slows the rate of firing aimed shots.

    "Pros & cons"
Yes; between those two, the revolver is considerably more accurate, in spite of the short barrel. But I'm by no means suggesting either is the best, for any purpose.

West Germany was created on 23 May 1949 some 4 years after the end of WWII.
This weapon was probably bought on another tour whilst based in Germany.
