Hi Everyone! Would you have any idea who made this pitcher? It's 9" tall and is marked on the bottom, but the mark is blurry - could be one word or 2 groups of letters of numbers, I think.

    Thanks so much,
    Janice

I'm sorry, I don't know, but I like it. I don't think it is very old though.

I will tell you this much...all the ones with a base decorated/designed like yours have sold for the most part and seem to be not as common as the others.

I’d say Olfaire from Portugal but I can’t find a match to the mark on yours.

Clay isn't right for BMP. I think that just says ENGLAND.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, except there is no "D" or even a smidgen to suggest it was there.

    What's the chances of that.
I've just brought one home from my lock-up to be washed.
Mine is a souvenir for the Isle of Wight, made by Royal Winton.

Very popular these were. SylvaC made them, Beswick, all sorts. This looks 70s to me with that colour. Oh, and Dartmouth did them.

At least an England attribution. That is encouraging.

Olfaire is the only one that I could find that matches the design at the base and same exact colors.

Yes, I found an Olfaire one (maybe the same one you found) with same/similar design at the base, but the mark on the bottom was raised and very clearly Olfaire. Then I found this, so I think Olfaire may be correct: https://www.ebay.com/i/312855711046...MIxo3Qmpvr6AIVUAiICR1BvQDUEAQYAiABEgLUOfD_BwE

Does it matter it the clay is different?
The way the base is shaped is similar with the uneven rim.

Would they have made a copy of their own mold?
The fins aren't the same, and the scales are not as defined
    Just what I see.
    I don't really know anything.

Clay always matters: companies will try to use that which is local. That Olfaire one is typical of Portuguese white pottery with a heavy tin glaze.

I like the color of this one, and the multicolored ones. Overall, now I want one of this style, anyway.

I think the mold looks very similar. Perhaps the addition of the glaze accentuated the lines and defined the piece?

I notice the description on the Worthpoint one says that it "does not really gurgle."

I was wondering why these are referred to as gurgling. Do some of them make a special noise, and others don't?
