I don't know if this is antique or not. I'm guessing no. The decor is floral and leaves. Hand carved, cedar. 27" x 13" x 13". Any guess as to the value? Thanks! (No markings on bottom)

How about photos of the inside? From the catch on the front, it looks modern.

I'll have to get photos tomorrow. It doesn't LOOK old. Would $75 be too much?

It actually looks like some of the chests that come out of the Philippines. They have been doing these for years & continue doing them today. Possibly check Pier One's website for ID & pricing help.

Agree, Chinese camphor wood chest. Not antique but seems to have some age to it. $75.00 seems pretty cheap to me at retail. You might be able to find one cheaper at auction or other wholesale venues but might have to wait awhile to run across another one.

Depends on how, where, and motivation to sell. For a fast sale, it is probably OK. If you are looking to maximize return and time is not an issue, I would probably ask more. I would expect to see this at $150.00 or more here in my medium sized town Midwest retail location (Even my local thrift store had one, not even this nice, that they sold for $200.00.) You might do better or worse depending on where you are and how you are selling.

    Newbie here....

I've sold two for around $70-$75 but got both a very reasonable prices. You can always mark it down.

I've read many of these came home with the solders after the war for gifts to their girlfriends
