Hand carved wooden wild pig box

    I really do not think this is old, but I wasn't sure where else to post this question.

    This piece was obviously hand carved. It is 16{" log & is 8" to the tip of his ear (& take my word for it this piece is definitely a he :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:).

    if that wood is Albesia....it's a yesterday Indonesian carving...

    From Bali or Balinese influenced Lombok, Indonesia. And as komo said, recent.
    It is based on traditional boxes for funerary ashes or offerings, like this one:

    I was pretty sure it was nothing special, but just wanted to make sure. I think I will just add him to the box of stuff to go to the consignment shop tomorrow. :happy::happy:

    He came along with a large rabbit figure that I bought for a friend at the auction Friday night & she told me she didn't want this piece. So I had nothing invested in him anyway. :D:D
