Featured Hand Chased Metal Wall Hanging Writing on Back

    Found this is my treasure hunting.     Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Hi Jaime......what an unusual piece with a lot of detail to it!!! Looks like it's made of copper? I cropped around the writing on the back and enhanced the writing the best that I could, and inversed one image as well to see if that would bring it out any better. I do not think it is in English, but also don't know what language it would be. Maybe someone else can tell. Hope it helps....

    The technique would be described as "repousse" - hammered and punched from the back to raise the design on the front. The image looks middle eastern, perhaps Iraqi or Kurdish?
