In continuation with the previous post. Found these items while cleaning out my grandmothers cupboard.

Was wondering if these fans have any value or should we just get rid of them. Are there any specialized places where these can be sold? Or is there some specific terms to be used while trying to sell them. I could not find any specific manufacturing marks on them as such.

Also some of these appear hand painted, made of bone/ivory? and feathers.

    Here it goes -

    Are these Bone?

Which feathers are these? are they attached on mother of pearl? IMG_2305.jpg IMG_2306.jpg

These appear to be hand painted. the bigger one has a place to put your perfume in it on the left hand side.

As always thank you for your help and suggestions in advance.

Yes, pierced bone, 19th century. If you take a photo of it completely open, I can probably say which part of the 19th century.
Roshan, I can't tell either, the photos are too small.
Again, very small, but both look second half of the 20th century. The one on the left looks like it has Mt Fuji, so could be Japanese. Would love to see the lipstick holder too.:)

The bottom one with the carnations or claveles is Spanish. Sweet. Doesn't look terribly old. 2nd half 20th century. Would be hand painted. And likely a nice souvenir from a trip to Spain.

The photo is so small, I thought I was looking at poppies.:shame:
Spain was my first thought, but they make similar fans in the Philippines.
    I definitely need bigger photos.;)

It looks like it was made of bamboo so it could be Filipino. Although carnation is not a popular design element in the Philippines - but most abanicos in the Philippines is made of bamboo.

Bamboo would certainly rule out Spain.

There are collectors, and as long as menopause stalks the Earth there will be users!

That last one looks like bamboo from what I can see from here.

@Any Jewelry the picture of the fan. if you look at the side left there is this thing I guess in which you put your droplets of perfume.

The white ones are probably goose feathers. The smaller ones are peacock feathers, like these covering the back and large wing feathers:

The frame of the feather fan is bone. It is probably Chinese.

Both bone fans are 19th century, but for a more exact dating I need to see them completely folded out, like this:

    Hi AJ
I am not able to completely open it up. The ribbon seems stuck when I force it.

Oops.:nailbiting: Best to leave it as it is then.
The main thing is, the bone fans are both 19th century.:)

    Thanks a lot AJ.

is the feather one and the Bone one more unique AKA worth something or are they like souvenirs like the other 2?
