A case could be made for this to be more appropriately shown in Metalwork. Decisions about such finicky minutia are wholly beyond this mortal. Weight is just shy of 2 pounds; it's 3/8" thick, the teardrop notch is 2 1/2" long an' ~5/8" wide. Both the forked end an' the teardrop have been nicely chisel-cut so the inner faces are properly angled for grip...quite an example of straightforward blacksmith craft, IMO. I've had it for years; not that I'll ever need it, but the simple beauty of this utilitarian tool captured me on first sight...I believe I had to give a Buck for the pleasure of its permanent company an' comfort.
For your pleasure an' comments, good folks; Thanks for lookin'!

Cool primitive Whit. They used to make knives out of files in the 19th century, ie: Confederate Civil War Bowie knives being the most desirable.
PS-You could get some mighty stubborn Wisdom Teeth out with that thing !
